enquanto treinador dos Blue Devils e inscreveu o seu nome, mais uma vez, nos livros de história ao ultrapassar o Hall of Famer John Wooden (217-11), antigo treinador de UCLA.
Depois de na véspera se terem superiorizado à Universidade da Califórnia, a Universidade de Duke superou os Georgetown Hoyas com Vernon Carey Jr. em grande destaque.
