Manuel Fernandes foi eleito este sábado, 8 de Novembro, presidente da Federação Portuguesa de Basquetebol, sucedendo a Mário Saldanha, há quase 25 anos no cargo.
O novo Presidente da Federação Portuguesa de Basquetebol venceu as eleiões com cerca de 2/3 dos votos expressos em urna.
Manuel Fernandes, que concorria ao cargo com Eduardo Monteiro, exercia as funções de diretor técnico nacional há 30 anos, tendo apresentado há um mês a sua demissão desse cargo, uma vez que considerava a sua posição incompatível com a candidatura às eleições.
