O Planeta Basket resulta de uma iniciativa privada, e é independente de quaisquer outras entidades, públicas ou privadas. Os conteúdos publicados no "site" são da exclusiva responsabilidade dos seus promotores e colaboradores.
É missão do Planeta Basket contribuir para o desenvolvimento do basquetebol na vertente de divulgação sobre o jogo, seus agentes, técnicas utilizadas e cultura própria da modalidade.
No cumprimento da sua missão o Planeta Basket toma como objectivo principal levar ao conhecimento dos interessados testemunhos e experiências de agentes da modalidade, artigos técnicos, informação sobre competições em Portugal e principais competições internacionais, e quaisquer outros trabalhos que melhorem o conhecimento sobre a prática e o ensino do basquetebol, a sua organização e os seus valores.
O Planeta Basket pretende atingir este objectivo através de uma atitude positiva, de valorização das realizações da modalidade e que promova os valores do respeito e da confiança, rejeitando ao mesmo tempo atitudes negativas ou de auto-promoção individual, que potenciem conflitos ou climas de desconfiança entre agentes da modalidade.
Os conteúdos publicados pelo Planeta Basket estarão de acordo com os princípios aqui explicitados. O "site" do Planeta Basket procurará que estes princípios se mantenham e se reforcem como regras de convivência generalizadamente aceites e praticadas no seio do basquetebol.
